D. Koutsoubas at the beginning of his speech made a special reference to the devastating fires.

Speaking on the bill, he asked the question “Is the government’s haste connected with another of its haste, to promote the dangerous arrangements with Turkey and indeed under the umbrella of the USA, NATO in the Aegean, the Eastern Mediterranean and the Cyprus?».

“We even heard the prime minister talking about “necessary concessions” and saying that “national sovereignty is a relative concept”. What exactly does it mean? Sovereignty means territory, territorial waters and national airspace. What is any of this relevant?” he said.

He recalled that the KKE has warned the people for a long time that the government is “working systematically to shape the terms of co-management, co-exploitation of the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean with the Turkish state, for the benefit of the energy and other groups, at the expense of course of the two peoples, with heavy consequences for the sovereignty and sovereign rights of the country”.

He said that the government is “passing the law with the support of the fascist formation that represents the currently imprisoned for the criminal organization of H.A. He said that with the bill the government is giving an incentive “to make mass applications for the acquisition of citizenship by people who until now had not even dealt with it, nor were they even interested.”
