“The great suffering faced by thousands of stranded drivers on the Athens-Corinth National Highway, as well as on the Old National Highway, due to the fire in a tanker truck, without any information about when they will be able to move, but also without any care, both from the authorities state agencies as well as the management company, highlights once again the lack of a comprehensive plan to deal with such incidents on the country’s otherwise full toll highways”, notes the press office of the Central Committee of the KKE in a comment, published earlier, the afternoon.

“Now every care must be taken for the thousands of drivers and passengers for as long as they remain trapped, combined with immediate measures for their speedy and safe release,” added the same comment.

Interventions on the matter were made by KKE MPs Christos Katsotis to the Minister of Civil Protection V. Kikilia, and Christos Tsokanis to the 1st Highway Traffic Department PATHE Attica in Megara.
