Although they were arrested again in Greece, they managed to cross the border unmolested – New removals of senior and top officers are coming – The Croats always refuse and maintain a united stance
“Protagonists” and in wild fights that took place in November 2015 at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, between fans of Dinamo Zagreb and Red Star, were six of the Croats arrested for the murderous attack in New Philadelphia last week.
Despite the fact that they were marked and arrested again in Greece, they managed to cross the border unmolested and cause new bloody incidents.
The wild fight of 2015 had broken out in broad daylight outside the airport. The Croatian hooligans were in Greece for the match between Dynamo and Olympiakos when they met with Red Star fanatics. A total of 36 people were arrested by the authorities, while six hooligans ended up injured in the hospital.
New removals of senior and top officers are coming
On the occasion of the pile of omissions and mistakes, on the part of the Police that led to the bloody events in New Philadelphia, the Minister of Citizen Protection, Yiannis Oikonomou, announced new removals of officers.
The Minister of Citizen Protection is expected to proceed with the removal of seven more senior and senior officers of the Greek Police in the next period for the oligarchy and the generally incorrect handling that led to the tragedy of New Philadelphia.
At the same time, ELAS are launching attacks on supporters’ associations.
The Croats always refuse and take a united stand
However, they denied that the young Croats who were arrested for participating in the bloody events of August 7 and the fatal wounding of Michalis are organized Dinamo Zagreb fans and members of the so-called “Bad Blue Boys” or BBB.
“I’m not organized in Dynamo’s BBB, I’m just a sports fan,” testified apologetically the 23-year-old from Zagreb, Croatia. “I don’t know who organized the trip for us to come to Greece. I am not organized in Dynamo’s BBB and I don’t know if any of my co-accused are,” claimed a 22-year-old Croatian arrested respectively.
The same attitude was maintained by all the prisoners for the murderous fight, with BBB members however in the recent match between Dinamo Zagreb and AEK symbolically leaving empty seats in their stands as a sign of solidarity with their imprisoned “brothers”.
In the obvious question of the investigators “why they were in Greece” they claimed that they traveled to the country to watch the match between Panathinaikos and French Marseille.
The Croatian hooligans claimed that they went to the AEK stadium in New Philadelphia on the evening of August 7 to cheer on the Dinamo Zagreb players ahead of the match scheduled for the following day.
Almost all of the persecuted Croats testified apologetically that they were going to spend the night in hotels not in Athens but in Patras, where they had either already booked or were going to stay after Dynamo’s training was over and they left New Philadelphia.
Will DNA tests “talk”?
At the level of investigations, however, the results of the DNA analysis are expected next week, which will show whether the arrested are connected to the weapons found by the police.
In an attempt to identify the killer of Michalis Katsouris, the authorities’ investigations turn to the mobile phones of the 105 arrested.
The family of Michalis Katsouris is asking for justice.
“I ask for justice, for the person who did this harm to my child to be found. And in the morning, at 3:30 in the morning, my sister came, took me out into the yard and told me the child was badly beaten and I went to the hospital and found out. I went crazy there. I collapsed,” he told the Star.
