My priorities are three: the unity of the party, its reorganization into a party of structures and its return to the path of taking over the government, says Efi Ahtsioglou
In her main priorities if she wins the battle for the presidency of SYRIZA-PSstates candidate Efi Ahtsioglou in an interview on the “iEidiseis.gr” website, while at the same time criticizing the Mitsotakis government and leaving sharp points against PASOK.
“My priorities are threefold: the unity of the party, its reorganization into a party of structures and its return to the path of taking over the government“, states Efi Ahtsioglou, according to an announcement by Koumoundourou and adds: “These presuppose that we get back together with the social forces that brought SYRIZA to the government in 2015, with the progressive world of the country watching us but also to finally expand the progressive space: in two words to convince and inspire. To do this we must be everywhere. In the Parliament, in the unions, in the scientific associations, in the chambers, in the self-government. But also in every cinematic form that emerges in social life, in workplaces, in youth mobilizations, in the feminist movement, the ecological movements, the movements for the defense of culture and cultural workers, the movements for the enshrinement of LGBTQI rights».
Mrs. Ahtsioglou claims that “the result of the previous election has shaped an unsustainable but also dangerous correlation” and notes: “And this is not a theoretical scheme, because the consequences can be seen both in the policies that are implemented and in the everyday life of the citizens. The intention for 16 hours of work is indicative of the government’s willingness not only to continue but also to deepen the policy of complete deregulation of the labor market and intensify the exploitation of wage earners. But also from the news during the summer we understand that the political dominance of the ND has brought arrogance and administrative inaction. We see it with the thousands of burnt lands all over the country, we saw it in the case of the murder of Michalis in New Philadelphia, we also saw it in the traffic jam in Athens-Corinth last week. Unfortunately we are only at the beginning. SYRIZA-PS must therefore highlight a different strategy for the future of the country: with specific proposals, organized criticism and social alliances but also mobilization from below in order to form a large majority stream».
Regarding her strategy against PASOK, she states: “Our opponent is and will always be New Democracy. PASOK under Mr. Androulakis has chosen the one-front against SYRIZA and confirms the strategic, political and ideological convergence with the government of the Right. It’s sad but it’s reality. For months we have been asking for an agreement on a cooperation government to avoid the return to power of Mr. Mitsotakis and Mr. Androulakis persistently refused. This unquestionably at the end of the day favored New Democracy. We, therefore, in every effort that gives space to Mr. Mitsotakis, we will be opposite. Unfortunately in PASOK not only they cannot do the same but they don’t even dare to say it and objectively they function as government support».
