By Antonis Anzoletou
“The lines get confused” in SYRIZA for the debate after yesterday’s meeting of the representatives of the presidential candidates held via zoom. His side Euclid Tsakalotou in the statement he made, he argued that an open debate could be held, which he proposed to be held by the prefectural committee of SYRIZA Piraeus. And even have livestreaming with the audience asking questions and the contenders for leadership answering.
With his post, the former Minister of Finance made it clear for the first time publicly that he no longer wishes to hold a debate on television: “We are experiencing a dramatic summer, with fires that cause incalculable destruction in the country, and highlight in the most painful way, the inefficiency of a tragic government and a helpless state. Consequently, the proposal for a debate, in terms of a televised spectacle, between the candidates for the presidency of SYRIZA, should be seen in the light of the new data, since its possible holding, in this climate, would show indifference to the society and its real needs”.
From his side Nikos Pappa it becomes clear that the former Minister of Digital Policy will insist on holding the telefight and any other event, such as the one proposed by the prefectural Piraeus, could be held in addition. For Mr. Pappas, the proposal to carry out the telefight on September 7 remains on the table.
From her environment Efis Ahtsioglou they state that they are positive that the debate will take place, they simply point out that on Wednesday, when the representatives of the candidates will meet again, the new environment should be examined, focusing on the evolution of the fires. The side of Stefanos Tzoumakas also appeared positive.
