Tones are rising in Turkish rhetoric with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan talking about “aggressive actions in the Aegean”.

Speaking yesterday at the naval academy, Erdogan supported Ankara’s support for Libya, referring to the Turkish-Libyan memorandum. At the same time, he also spoke about “aggressive actions in the Aegean”.

As the SKAI correspondent broadcasts from Istanbul, Manolis Kostidis, Erdogan said: “By supporting the legitimate government of Libya, we prevented the division of this country and secured our rights in the Mediterranean. Our behavior towards aggressive actions in the Aegean is already known to all our interlocutors. We defend, at the same time, the rights and laws of our Turkish Cypriot brothers in the Eastern Mediterranean until the end.”
