After the statement about “the enemy who soiled the East with his boots”, Erdogan talks about aggressive actions in the Aegean
Tones are rising in Turkish rhetoric with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan talking about “aggressive actions in the Aegean”.
In fact, he said that “by supporting the legitimate government of Libya, we ensured Turkey’s rights in the Mediterranean”.
Speaking yesterday at the naval academy, Erdogan supported Ankara’s support for Libya, referring to the Turkish-Libyan memorandum. At the same time, he also spoke about “aggressive actions in the Aegean”.
As the SKAI correspondent broadcasts from Istanbul, Manolis Kostidis, Erdogan said: “By supporting the legitimate government of Libya, we prevented the division of this country and secured our rights in the Mediterranean. Our behavior towards aggressive actions in the Aegean is already known to all our interlocutors. We defend, at the same time, the rights and laws of our Turkish Cypriot brothers in the Eastern Mediterranean until the end.”
Ankara: “We will defend our rights in the Aegean and the Mediterranean without compromise – In Cyprus the only solution is two states”
Turkish Defense Ministry spokesman Zeki Akturk said yesterday: “The Turkish Armed Forces continue to protect the rights and interests of our country and the ‘Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ in the Aegean and the Mediterranean without compromise. We continue mutual efforts to maintain and develop the positive atmosphere that has recently been formed with our neighbor Greece. Another important issue is the status of the ‘Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ on the island. We stress that two sovereign, equal and independent states are the only solution in Cyprus”.
Erdogan’s son-in-law explains Turkey’s drone doctrine
“Kizil will collide with drones. It will fall on them. We are changing air battles.”
THE Selcuk Bayraktar, head of technology company Bayraktar, said: “The Kizil elma unmanned aerial vehicle is a major project and a new and major technological development. We are opening the gates to the future of a new world. The planet is driven to dogfights with drones. This is done with Kizil elma.
»The unmanned fighter also changes the data in air battles. As in classic dogfights aircraft maneuver and do not collide. While the first thing the drone will do is collide with the other aircraft. So there is a difference between manned and unmanned aircraft. Basically no manned aircraft will want to approach an unmanned fighter. They will attempt to shoot it down from a distance. He will not want to approach it as there is no human in them. In manned aircraft, it takes maybe 20 years to train someone.”
The Turkish media keep coming back to the issue of Greece’s armaments, putting relations with the USA under the microscope.
The US gives weapons to Greece, attempts to arm the islands, Haberturk network reported.
“The issue is how they arm Greece and the second issue is how the USA is coming. Some discuss and say ‘the US gives weapons, what will happen to us’ The issue is how they are arming Greece and this creates an issue for us, but the other issue is that the USA is going down to the field, trying to arm the islands. I mention it so that we don’t miss it, there is also the lifting of the arms embargo on the Greek Cypriots. All of these are directly related to each other,” the Turkish network said.
