“We are working with a plan and determination to improve the daily life of all citizens” declares the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Staikouras in his post on Social Networking Media, taking stock of the recent actions.

In his post, the minister specifically mentions:

“Ahead of the 87th TIF, I visited, once again, Thessaloniki and participated in the second extended informational meeting of all agencies, where we decided on actions and “smart solutions” regarding the facilitation of traffic in the city, on the occasion of the start of work on the “Flyover” next month.

I participated in a meeting at the offices of the OASTH regarding the future of the Organization but, above all, the short-term reinforcement of its work with even more drivers and vehicles on the city’s streets. In fact, the contract for the supply of 250 electric buses has already been submitted to Parliament, of which 110 will strengthen, according to the plan, the Thessaloniki fleet.

We handed over the new facilities of the modern Special Vocational Training Workshop (EEEK) of Peristeri for students with disabilities, which will operate normally from this school year and will be installed in the old 3rd Primary School, after the necessary interventions have been carried out.

In addition, after long-term diplomatic consultations, we signed a Bilateral Aviation Agreement between Greece and Mongolia which, after its ratification by the Greek Parliament, will provide new momentum for further building mutually beneficial partnerships in the aviation sector.

The main priority of the Government and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport is the improvement of the daily life of citizens, as well as the implementation of policies that strengthen the position of our country. As an absolute priority, we undertake initiatives and actions that practically alleviate inequalities and social exclusion, strengthen inclusion and upgrade the lives of all our fellow citizens.”
