The restoration of the water supply network is the immediate priority for Volos, while for the villages of Pelion the release of people who are still trapped, said Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, after the conclusion of the meeting on dealing with the consequences of the floods held at the town hall of Volos.

Regarding the water supply of Volos, Mr. Mitsotakis said that from tomorrow the situation will begin to normalize, while the technical assistance of EYDAP has also been requested, for which he noted that it now belongs to the Greek State and not to the Superfund.

He emphasized that the issues of state aid have begun and are being launched and he assured the citizens that they will “run” very quickly to the “Janos” model, so that they can get the first financial support for household constructions.

Regarding interventions in the road network of Pelion, he said the government will move in two periods. Immediate restoration of the damages with very fast projects which will be launched by the Region of Thessaly, so that the road network will be opened within the next weeks. And medium-term interventions so that temporary works become permanent and the road network becomes better and more resilient than what it was before.
