“No one will be left without the support of the state” he clarified speaking to SKAI and the show “Kalimera” with Giorgos Autias, the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasis.
“Difficult days. Our mind, soul and efforts are focused on the affected areas. The Prime Minister is in a constant discussion with the ministers in order to run very quickly the state aid and all the support measures for our fellow citizens”, said . Papathanasis.
On the occasion of the letter sent by the Prime Minister to the President of the Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance underlined that “he is asking for support, he is asking for reinforcement, in the context of the financial assistance that Slovenia also received. Either from European funds, or from the NSRF, or from the Recovery Fund, or from the public investment program from national funds, the resources will be found to support our fellow citizens, making it clear that “the state is always there” and that “very quickly the support programs will start”.
“However, an assessment must be made so that we know the extent of the damage. The whole government is there to find ways to cover up what happened. From then on, the state has an obligation to continue the projects. We have organized the way to deal with these issues. Of course, in such a disaster, which happens in 100, 200 or 300 years, the state is organized in order to immediately cover the needs of the citizens”, added Mr. Papathanasis, emphasizing: “quick compensation to help the people. Our focus is on keeping all our fellow citizens safe. No one will be left without the support of the state.”
Regarding the upgrading of the Greek economy, the Deputy Minister of Finance pointed out that “after 12 years, we had the recovery of the investment grade. Greece is a country where investors can invest without any fear. This will give jobs to our fellow citizens. We will have lower interest rates and the image of a country that welcomes investments and creates the wealth needed to be able to support our fellow citizens in any problem.”
