Economou: The ministers have the confidence of the prime minister

by

“Whoever is a minister has the confidence of the government and the prime minister, but that does not mean that we are happy with the coordination and performance of the state mechanism,” said government spokesman Giannis Oikonomou, speaking on SKAI TV and the show “Unmatched” about the problems. created by the snowstorm in Attica.

He added that the government’s priority is to become better and better in terms of structures and coordination and not the ping pong of responsibilities.

Automatic compensation mechanism for power outages

Mr. Oikonomou pointed out the “colossal effort” for the release of thousands of drivers from Attiki Odos but also for the restoration of electricity that had been cut off in about 200,000 homes and from Wednesday – Thursday were reduced to less than 3,000 – 4,000.

“To be realistic and honest. In such phenomena you will have difficulties. I do not say it as an excuse but we must have the sense of moderation “, he emphasized characteristically.

For the households that were left without electricity, Mr. Economou announced an automatic compensation mechanism within the next period by HEDNO.

Regarding the compensation of 2,000 euros from Attiki Odos to the drivers who were trapped, the government spokesman stated categorically that if they receive these amounts, they can take legal action against the concessionaire.

They filed a motion of censure because they are losing ground under their feet

Regarding the motion of censure filed by Alexis Tsipras against the government, Mr. Oikonomou estimated that it is due to the intensifying deterioration of the official opposition which, as he said, “sees the ground of its political space being lost under its feet”.

He added that it is a prime opportunity for the government to highlight what it has done in the economy, in the rule of law, in jobs, in strengthening the NSS, in education, in the digital transformation and in all matters concerning the daily lives of citizens.

The government, said Mr. Economou, is moving forward these 2.5 years with its successes and weaknesses, with its courage to recognize mistakes and try to become better and better having faced successive crises, many of which are unprecedented.

Androulakis identified with Tsipras but also wants to maintain nuggets of realism

The government spokesman turned his arrows against KINAL president Nikos Androulakis, saying he identified with Tsipras in support of the motion of censure but wanting to maintain “nuggets of realism” saying he did not want elections. According to Mr. Economou, Androulakis’s moves highlight a contradiction.

Obviously, he said, he is a noble man who does not have the toxicity of SYRIZA but his approach to big issues is superficial and without realism and depth.
