Disagreement between the presidency of the national delegation arose on Friday during the debate in Parliament on the motion of censure made by Alexis Tsipras against the government.
Nikos Androulakis sought to speak to the KINAL Parliamentary Group on Sunday, with the aim of having his own intervention in the debate on the motion of censure. This speech was to take place in the small hall of the Parliament, however the presidency of the Parliament did not give its approval, as a result of which a strong disagreement arose in the national delegation.
“The government has strategically failed in every field it was called upon to manage, it is necessary for you to leave now,” Dimitris Tzanakopoulos stressed to the coalition during the debate on the motion of censure against the government. “To form a Progressive majority with Prime Minister Tsipras,” he repeated.
It is indicative of the interest that -apart from the ministers- 220 deputies have been written to speak: 108 from ND, 70 from SYRIZA, 17 from the Movement for Change, 12 from the KKE, 5 from the Hellenic Solution, 6 from MERA25 and the 3 independents.
Today, six members of the government are expected to intervene, namely the Ministers of Civil Protection Takis Theodorikakos, Labor, K. Hatzidakis, Interior Minister M. Voridis, and the Deputy Ministers of Health Mina Gaga, Minister of Foreign Affairs M. Varvitsiotis and Minister of Interior. Petsas.
The debate is expected to conclude at around 8pm on Sunday night with a roll-call vote.
In order for the motion of censure to be accepted, it must be approved by an absolute majority of the total number of Members, while no new motion can be submitted before six months have elapsed.
The prevailing estimates speak of a vote of no confidence in the 157 deputies of New Democracy, but a vote in favor of the SYRIZA Central Committee.
It is recalled that the Movement for Change and the other parties of the minor opposition have made known their proposal to vote in favor of the motion of censure, expressing their disagreement with the current government policy.
