A farewell event in honor of Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandra Papadopoulou was organized by the Hellenic Caucus on Tuesday afternoon at the Capitol.

Ms. Papadopoulou returned on business to Washington, where she served until recently as Greece’s ambassador to the US, giving the Hellenic Caucus the opportunity to host a farewell reception in her honor.

The event was attended by leading American lawmakers, including the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Bob Menendez, and the leader of the Democratic minority on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Gregory Meeks.

In addition, members of Congress participated, as well as Greek-American Congressmen Chris Papas, Gus Blirakis, Nicole Malliotaki, John Sarbanis, and Dina Titus, with whom Ms. Papadopoulou had worked closely throughout her ambassadorship.
