Mr. Kasselakis began his statement by expressing his condolences for the losses in Libya. “My thoughts are with the families of these people. These are the heroes of society.”
“It was an unexpectedly large turnout that marks the first step for the country to have a progressive government soon,” the winner of the first round of the internal party election in SYRIZA-PS, Stefanos Kasselakis, said in his statement in Koumoundourou.
He went on to say: “Wherever I went in the first week people were telling me ‘hold on’ because of the attacks I was receiving, in the second and third week they were saying ‘you are our hope’. I want to tell them that the hope is all of us together, not me alone, and in order to make hope a reality, we must return next Sunday to the polls, win and face the government that does not represent the history of the country”.
