The importance of preserving historical memory was underlined by the Minister of State Makis Voridis, representing the Prime Minister at the celebrations for the 202nd anniversary of the Fall of Tripolitsa.

After the end of the parade, in his statements, the Minister of State evaluated the specific event as an “important historical moment for the Nation, without which the evolution of the uprising, the evolution of the revolution would obviously have been different. These events are of great importance, they are of national and historical memory, they are something that works pedagogically, they transfer History from generation to generation, it is our duty and obligation to do this, not to forget where we come from”, he emphasized, at the same time not, with the realization “towards where we must go”.

On the other hand, “the duty to defend national freedom is non-negotiable. And, no matter how many challenges we face, it is something that constitutes the crown of every policy exercise”, and in particular, “the protection of national independence, our territorial integrity, our sovereign rights”, noted M. Voridis in closing.
