Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with BSE executives with whom he discussed the possibility of the private sector contributing in an organized manner to the restoration of flood-prone areas in Thessaly
He met with members of the Executive Committee of the Association of Businesses and Industries (SEB) today Tuesday in Maximos, the Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
During the discussion it was noted that the Greek economy was significantly enhanced in the previous four years and maintains a strong growth momentum, while the gradual transformation of the production model is progressing.
The challenges faced by private entrepreneurship, labor market prospects, the creation and coverage of well-paid jobs, the training of the workforce to have high-level skills, the possibilities for further attracting investment, strategic goals such as the green transition were examined , but also the challenges arising from the inflationary pressures recorded across Europe.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the government is determined to continue the reform effort for the improvement of the business environment and the international competitiveness of the Greek economy, with an emphasis on the further reduction of non-salary costs, the expansion of the tax base and the increase of electronic transactions, the improvement of the speed in the administration of Justice, the strict controls in every focus lawlessness, enhancing competition and increasing incomes.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the BSE officials also discussed the possibility of the private sector to contribute in an organized way to the restoration of flood-prone areas in Thessaly.
The two sides agreed that members of the Association can, on the one hand, undertake the repair, reconstruction and substantial upgrading of damaged school complexes, and on the other hand, contribute to the state aid fund through which the restoration of damaged houses is financed.
On the part of the government, the Minister of Environment and Energy Theodoros Skylakakis, the Minister of Labor and Social Security Adonis Georgiadis, the Ministers of State Stavros Papastavrou and Akis Skertsos, the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasis, the Deputy Minister to the Prime Ministers took part in the meeting Yiannis Bratakos and the Head of the Economic Office of Prime Minister Alexis Patelis.
