Continuing the head of the “Attiki Brosta” combination, he emphasized that at the end of the five years he wants to have dealt with these problems.
“If the citizens trust us next Sunday, I will have 66 bets concerning the 66 neighborhoods (s.s. Municipality) of Attica. They concern their daily life, all that we have to do in the face of their problems”, stressed the candidate for regional governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias, in an interview with the television station “Action24”.
Continuing the head of the “Attiki Brosta” combination, he emphasized that at the end of the five years he wants to have dealt with these problems.
“I want to be able to go into these neighborhoods and know that I’ve done my part, know that I’ve done everything in my power to make their lives better.”
He noted that his doctrine is to be in the field, because “you can’t have a picture of the issues and find solutions by being in the office. I know the problems that exist in relation to pathogens, arrhythmias, overlaps, which have at times hurt us and create dissatisfaction among the citizens. I’m not going to hide behind my responsibilities. For me, my responsibility will be anything that concerns, inconveniences and saddens the citizen”.
Referring to traffic, the candidate regional governor of Attica emphasized that he will proceed with the utilization of new technologies. “At the same time”, he added, “we must invest in mass transport, work together with the relevant ministries, to bring a specific result. At the same time, we need to look at the problems within the neighborhoods. To update the traffic studies and get a concrete road map, which will say what steps we will take, when we will start and when we will finish. People are asking for immediate solutions. And there can be no solutions without timetables.”
Regarding the anti-flood and anti-fire protection of Attica, Mr. Hardalias emphasized: “We no longer have any room for delays. We will go at a very fast pace, in cooperation with the government and the relevant agencies. The implementation of the law 4662/2020 that we passed must proceed and it is the ultimate legislative tool to escape from the logic of responsibilities”.
He reiterated the belief that one should be responsible from start to finish for managing a crisis and be held accountable. “We have the ability to declare areas of emergency in the face of imminent danger. This is why we need to proceed with the establishment of a Risk Assessment Committee, so that the mayors and regional governors know exactly what to do and where”, said Nikos Hardalias epigrammatically.
