Mr Kairides described the attack as a “heinous crime both in scale and execution” which will have a major impact on both Greece and Cyprus
The consequences of the war in Israel after the surprise attack by Hamas for both Greece and the surrounding areas were analyzed by the Minister of Immigration, Dimitris Kairidis, speaking on Monday morning on SKAI and on the “Today” show.
Mr. Kairides described the attack as a “heinous crime both in scale and execution” which will have a major impact on both Greece and Cyprus as he said it is likely to cause migration flows that already exist directly from Gaza , the West Bank but also from Lebanon.
“We have a new ignition source,” said the minister.
At the same time, he described the surprise received by Israel as “a double failure. The first is the operational one where the Israeli security forces were caught sleeping. They were surprised. They had a hundred dead.”
According to Mr. Kairides, if there is no framework for a political solution, new Hamas will be born as, as he said, a broader political solution is needed.
