Israel behaves as an organization and not as a state, said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as reported by Manolis Kostidis from Istanbul.

“They are making a massacre and not a war,” he added, in a stance interpreted as an attempt to gain a leadership role in the conflict and become the face of the Palestinians in the world.

The Turkish president said: “When you cut off the water supply, electricity but also the access of a city and destroy the infrastructure, when you destroy the mosques, churches and schools, prevent the humanitarian needs of the residents, destroy buildings full of civilians, a conflict which is done with each shameful way it is not war, but it is slaughter. The asymmetric and immoral attacks against Gaza will put Israel in an undesirable position in the world community. The bombing of areas where civilians live, the deliberate killing of civilians, the blocking of vehicles carrying humanitarian aid and their presence as a feat, are not reflections of a state but of an organization. If Israel does not behave like a state but like an organization, then it must know that it will be treated like an organization.”

“Worse Tragedies”

In fact, Erdogan warned Israel that “it may experience worse tragedies” and by presenting maps he supported the establishment of the Palestinian state.

“As you can see the picture is this. This is Palestine in 1947, the state of Israel and Palestine in 1947. See from 1949 to 1967 what Israel is like. Look at it today, what is the state of Palestine and Israel. For Israel to continue to exist as a state and for it to be able to ensure the safety of its citizens is possible only in this way. Otherwise, the incidents that broke out last Saturday will not end and worse tragedies will follow,” Erdogan said.

Fears of a refugee wave

Fears of a large wave of refugees from Gaza to Turkey are intensifying. “Palestinians will try to come to Turkey, Greece and Europe” Turkish media report.

Fatah Portakal, host of FOX HABER said: “Egypt will be one of the first countries that the refugees will go to. Like Libya. Jordan will be one of the countries, if it doesn’t suffer some damage from an invasion. It will be one of the countries that the refugees will go to. Saudi Arabia, but also Turkey. What will happen; Either refugee camps will be created here or they will take the roads to Europe. Or they will cross the Mediterranean like the Afghans, the Africans, the Syrians are already doing.

Or they will try to reach Europe through Turkey. The situation is difficult. Turkey must prepare for a new large wave of refugees. Are preparations being made? In Greece, the responsible minister stated that they are already discussing the issue of how to deal with a wave of refugees if there is to be one.”

Erdogan’s minister attacks Netanyahu

The Turkish Deputy Minister of Education Nazif Yilmaz has been posted in dimensions on the X platform with which he relays a publication by the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, accompanying it with the comment “you will cry”.

Particularly, “one day they will hurt you too. You will cry”wrote on X in response to a video posted by Netanyahu about Israeli air strikes in Gaza.

Already, the Israeli press is referring to the event, even recalling that Netanyahu was due to visit Turkey in the coming months, after postponing a trip in July due to the installation of a pacemaker.

Israeli media report that “last month, Turkey’s Islamic-conservative President Tayyip Erdogan met with B. Netanyahu in New York, in the first public meeting between the two leaders.”
