The president of PASOK, Nikos Androulakis, launched an attack against the ND, with his post on Facebook, in view of the second round of Sunday’s self-governing elections, characteristically stating that “in recent weeks, Mr. Mitsotakis did not stop promoting the need for District Governors and Mayors to belong to the same political family as the government.

The entire post by Mr. Androulakis:

New Democracy and Kyriakos Mitsotakis have proven many times that they are capable of working with the dark, as long as it serves their goals.

We recently met this in the central political scene, with his agreement with Mr. Velopoulos to beat the independent authorities but also in the local government, where in his anxiety to prevail persons who will act as the “long arm” of Maximos throughout Greece, he did not hesitate to even support A. Beo in Volos, who in turn supports the elected representative of New Democracy, K. Agorastos, for the Region of Thessaly.

They even reached the point, a few hours before the second round, of blackmailing the deeply hurt people of Thessaly through the mouth of the Minister of Rural Development, Mr. Avgenakis, linking the speed of compensation with the result of Sunday’s elections. In other words, it is not enough that their inaction had tragic consequences in Thessaly, they are already blackmailing them.

Mr. Mitsotakis, in his attempt to support Mr. Bakoyannis, during yesterday’s tour in Victoria Square, described Haris Doukas as a “communication wrapper”. A renowned professor at the National Technical University of Athens, specializing in sustainable city models.

On the contrary, the “essence” for the Prime Minister is the lack of accountability from the current Mayor, who still hesitates to say how much the self-confessed “failed experiment” of the Great Walk cost the citizens, leaving the city vulnerable to the effects of climate change – as seen in the last bad weather – and hostile to its residents with sidewalks that make accessibility difficult, crime and no greenery.

It bothers New Democracy that X. Doukas made an opening to other self-governing factions, but it is not bothered by the support provided to Mr. Bakoyannis by the far-right Failos Kranidiotis.

In recent weeks, Mr. Mitsotakis has not stopped promoting the need for District Governors and Mayors to belong to the same political family as the government.

However, the experience of recent years has proven that this centralized model is ineffective and associated with meritocracy and opacity.

To stay afloat, they invest in abstinence.
Don’t do them a favor.
That is why on Sunday, with our vote we support the self-government, which is next to the citizen and not next to Maximos.
