In the complaint that the anti-flood works were stopped a day after the second round of local elections proceeded o newly elected regional governor of Thessaly, Dimitris Kouretas and the president of the community of Vlohos, Yiannis Koukas speaking on SKAI TV and on the show “Mismatches”. However, the outgoing regional governor of Thessaly, Kostas Agorastos, argued by telephone that this is a lie.

“It didn’t make a good impression on me, I didn’t like what happened. Even if the money had run out, an announcement should have been made and the money should have been found”, noted Dimitris Kouretas and pointed out: “I publicly appeal to the minister to continue the project, whether it was stopped by mistake or it was deliberate, I don’t Interest”.

The baton was then taken by president of the Vloch community, Yiannis Koukaswho alleged that the works on the embankments started a few days before the second round of local elections and stopped the day after the elections.

“If the money was enough for four to five days, why didn’t they tell us? So they started to throw ashes in our eyes because of elections? Me, that’s how I see it. I don’t know why the works stopped. They built embankments. On Monday, the day after the election, they stopped. We are not second-class citizens,” said the president of the Vlohos community.

The outgoing regional governor of Thessaly, Kostas Agorastos, asked to intervene by phone, launching an attack against Dimitris Kouretas and the president of the Vlochos community, saying that “he lied during the pre-election campaign and is still lying now. The machines are working and the president over there over Vlochos can go and see them. If the machines were stopped for a day for any reason or for maintenance, I think this is not a stoppage of the works. At the moment we have 90 machines in Magnesia”, asserted Mr. Agorastos.
