The president of SYRIZA-PS, Stefanos Kasselakis, responds to the Prime Minister’s announcements about the administrations of Hospitals in a post on social media.

In his post he states: “Kyriakos Mitsotakis became…the Kolokotronis of the NHS: he announced his ‘revolution’ in hospital administrations: All interested parties will participate in a competition and the new administrator will be chosen by the minister, who receives a bonus or is fired by the prime minister”. Mr. Kasselakis speaks of deception and adds: “These party games will end. A Modern Left will throw the current government out of hospital management. The lives of Greek citizens demand a system that will not be based on party identity. The self-evident is finally so difficult.”

In order to “determine the magnitude of the deception” he refers to the answer given by the relevant SYRIZA sector head Rallia Christidou in her own video, which, among other things, points out “the failure in the selection of hospitals by the government in the previous five years”. He then asks why “law 4735, the Voridis law, was not applied to the selection of administrations and what new does the new law bring”. Finally he asks the prime minister: “to which young people are you addressing when you say that you give them the right to participate in a competition for the selection of administrations?” What young person will be able to have experience in a relevant administrative position for five or ten years? Those who have gone abroad or those who need to work two and three jobs for a living. The meritocracy and transparency in the staffing of the public administration cannot come with on-off criteria, micro-bonuses and blurry filters because that way the revolution you planned won’t even have time to start.”
