Shortly before the start of the budget battle in the Parliament, which involves a vote of confidence in the government, the parties have reached the final “fund” from the battle of self-governing elections. And based on these they are already drawing up their new strategy. At New Democracy they stay long on the results of the first round with 165 municipalities won (another 27 won in the second).

The “rebels” cost four districts, however there is an estimate that many forces united against the government. The reduction of electoral influence for New Democracy on October 8 is recorded at just over 49%. And this is a very good number, as compared to the recent popular verdict the increase is very significant. 0.9% was the increase in relation to the previous regional elections.

In the second round there was a drop, but abstention and lack of interest cannot be accounted for. They stand a lot on the fact that the blue faction has managed – despite the very difficult summer – to maintain the great acceptance it enjoys in its world. The upgrade from Standard & Poors it will be one of the tools that Kyriakos Mitsotakis will use in the next period to run his reform program in order to attract investments and create jobs.

The “third round” of the European elections is slowly starting to be prepared. After the announcement of the way they will be held, emphasis will be placed on the renewal of the ballots, which will be large.

For SYRIZA the news is not good. In the recent one Political Secretariat second, Kostas Poulakis took the floor and gave an account of the electoral battle for Koumoundourou. SYRIZA received a percentage of 12.7% and thus lost 5.2 points compared to the national elections. In relation to the regionals of 2019, it falls short of its strength by more than 6%.

In a related update made during the body’s meeting in June, approximately 320,000 more voters were found in the official opposition ballot box and 400,000 in the 2019 regional elections. The losses are great and there is no doubt that for SYRIZA the big issue is the rapid regrouping of its forces.

The situation is particularly difficult, as the party has been plunged since the internal party elections into a cycle of introversion. Today’s first meeting of the Executive Office, after the resignation of Alexis Tsipras, will take place against the background of the four deletions. In this environment, the European elections will be an “existential” process for Koumoundourou. The split is just around the corner with a key date being the Central Committee meeting on November 11-12.

In the PASOK after the self-governing polls they have put a “bow” for second place. The “counter” showed for Harilaou Trikoupi that it increased its strength by half a unit compared to the parliamentary elections of the summer, reaching 12.4%. For Nikos Androulakis, it seems that 15% is the minimum of the next target given that in the OTA polls he managed to significantly increase his strength in the large urban centers where he was lagging behind.

Only the predominance of Haris Doukas in Athens, after all, gives Harilaou Trikoupis a great psychological advantage to enter the battle of the European elections with the right hand. The political year anyway is very different for PASOK, as Mr Nikos Androulakis he is now in Parliament and will be able to represent his party in the big “battles” to come, with the budget at the top.

She expressed her satisfaction in a statement by Central Committee of the KKE for the results in the self-governing elections with the highest governing body analyzing the victories of the “People’s Rally” in municipalities and regions. According to the data listed, the party’s faction recorded an increase in all 13 regions with a total percentage of 10.03%, i.e. an increase of 3.2% compared to 2019 (6.86%). The overall assessment includes victories in Patras, Ikaria, Haidari, Kaisariani, Petroupoli, Tyrnavos, 460 municipal and 46 regional councilors throughout the country.

In the announcement it is stated that “in addition to the firsts in the six municipalities, the ballots of the “People’s Rally” record an increase in all major cities, in working-class neighborhoods of Attica, Thessaloniki, as well as in other regions, such as Thessaly, Eastern Sterea and Evia, where in the previous period the popular claim and solidarity were expressed against the policy of the government and local authorities which leaves the people unprotected”.
