Commenting on the findings of the polls, Mr. Tsiodras underlined that “the record of Mr. Kasselakis’ ideological position shows that there is no political identity”.
The director of the Prime Minister’s Press Office, Dimitris Tsiodras, spoke to SKAI TV and Dimitris Oikonomou and Akis Pavlopoulos about the developments in SYRIZA and the latest polls.
“SYRIZA inflated during the years of the crisis, it deflated when the crisis became a thing of the past. As one of its leading executives had said, “normality is not an opportunity for SYRIZA”. So, it was clearly seen that it is returning to the percentages of the past”, emphasized Mr. Tsiodras.
Commenting on the findings of the polls, Mr. Tsiodras underlined that “the record of Mr. Kasselakis’ ideological position shows that there is no political identity”.
“With what came out as a slogan, that ‘I will win over Mitsotakis’, it doesn’t seem – at least for now – to come about,” continued Mr. Tsiodras, adding that “of course it takes time, I agree with that. He is a new leader. I think he will show what he can do in the coming months.”
“From there, I think it is very important to have a credible opposition. Of course, the government, the New Democracy, cannot form an opposition, that is a matter for the rest”, pointed out Mr. Tsiodras and added that “it was not in the previous four years, and it is not now, the opponent of the government is the opposition. It was seen because New Democracy was 41%, SYRIZA was at 17%. The enemy was and is the problems of the citizens”.
