In the coming days there will be announcements from the Ministry of Environment and Energy regarding financial support for households heated by electricity, repeated the government representative, Pavlos Marinakis, during the briefing of the political editors, while he pointed out that citizens will not pay any price increases in electricity

Asked about the Middle East, Mr. Marinakis pointed out that “Greece has from the first moment been in favor of opening a humanitarian corridor for civilians in the Gaza Strip, it is in open communication with the USA and the UN for sending humanitarian aid by sea, it is going to for a complex and difficult process”.

When asked about Turkey’s position in the Middle East and whether the recent reports of the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, can negatively affect Greek-Turkish relations, the government representative explained that “we want to preserve the dialogue, but it does not depend only on us, we need to see consistency and commitment from the other side as well. Obviously everything is evaluated on a daily basis. It is clear that Greece will not retreat from its sovereign rights, there is a big difference between Greece and Turkey in the Middle East, however no one, and I imagine not even Turkey, wants to escape the situation. From there on, they will show the events of the following days and weeks.”

When asked about the Immigration Department, the government representative emphasized that the battle against traffickers’ rings is ongoing, that the competent authorities are on the lookout and that “we must always be one step ahead of the traffickers”.
