Intense annoyance of Vassilis Kikilia for the description “minister basketball player” used for him by Babis Papadimitriou
The Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection expressed his strong annoyance to SKAI and the air of “Simera”, Vassilis Kikilias for the description “basketball player minister” used for him in his speech by the former ND MP, Babis Papadimitriouwho was also a guest on the show, on Friday morning.
Earlier, Mr. Papadimitriou had mentioned the following shortly before the end of the show:
The minister’s comment in detail
“For those who didn’t watch the previous panel, I wake up early and watch… You had three commentators here, one of them Mr. Babis Papadimitriou, MP for one moon, television and radio commentator, chose in his speech, and when you said that I am invited here as the Minister of Civil Protection, to say in a way, in my opinion derogatory and insulting, “the basketball player minister”. For the sake of truth, I am a doctor of the University of Athens, an orthopedic doctor first. But also an athlete of the national team and a professional basketball player for many years, I have worn this jersey in the national team of children, teenagers, hopefuls, youth and men with honor. And I don’t think it’s at all derogatory to be an athlete for years and get badges, if some people have never got badges in their life in the first place. Second, it insults the entire sports family, where is this sports family? the one that every dashing politician and journalist runs to get an autograph and take a picture every time one of these kids, whether in a team or individual sport, brings a success for the country. So I would publicly advise him to be more careful, how he talks about those people who are part of the new generation, those we ask to return from abroad with the brain gain, those we ask to go vote, while now they are not voting , and have turned their backs on politics, those who in my view are the future of this country. Because of such attitudes, and such a mentality, these young children abhor us, they do not deal with politics, they do not deal with the public, and they think and say, and rightly so many times, “that you are all the same”.
