With reference to the humanitarian aid that our country sent to the civilians in the Gaza Strip, the government representative, Pavlos Marinakis, began briefing the political editors.
“The cargo, which includes pharmaceutical and medical material, arrived yesterday by C130 aircraft at El Aris military airport in Egypt, where it was received by the Greek ambassador in Cairo”he said and explained that the aid load was collected by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in consultation with the competent Egyptian authorities, ensures the fastest possible transfer of Greek humanitarian aid to Gaza.
“There is a need for humanitarian pauses and a continuous flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, something that the prime minister also emphasized in his communication yesterday with the US foreign minister, Anthony Blinken”, he added. “The prime minister reiterated Greece’s position on Israel’s right to self-defense and the condemnation of the terrorist Hamas,” he stressed.
Then the government representative said thatalmost two months after the unprecedented flooding that hit Thessaly and Central Greece, 92 million euros have already been paid as first aid to 24,500 of our fellow citizens. “The work of all involved bodies continues at an intensive pace, while the main concern of the State is to reduce payment times, increase payments and strengthen as many of our fellow citizens as possible,” he said.
Then he said that the codes participating in the “Permanent price reduction” program of the Ministry of Development have risen to 692. Interventions to deal with the consequences of the imported inflationary crisis continue with targeted moves by the ministry, intensive controls by the levels of DIMEA, which proceed at an unabated pace, as well as the moves of the government aimed at increasing the disposable income of all citizens” .
At this point, Mr. Marinakis emphasized that “following the pre-election commitment of the government and the announcement of the Prime Minister at the Thessaloniki International Fair, The Joint Ministerial Decision of the 8% increase of the “Minimum Guaranteed Income” program was signed by the Ministers of Social Cohesion and Family Sofia Zaharakis, Interior Nikis Kerameos, National Economy and Finance Deputy Minister Athanasios Petralia, Labor and Social Security Adoni Georgiadis, Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou.
The licensing proposal for the establishment and development of the Single Large Unit Business Park “Triasio Freight Center” which concerns the development of the first Business Park in the area of Logistics was submitted to the Ministry of Development, was the next topic in Mr. Marinakis’ introductory presentation.
“This is a flagship investment, amounting to 220 million Euros, a project that will establish Greece as a transit hub of international scope for Logistics, offering access to state-of-the-art digital infrastructure and innovative storage automation solutions. But primarily a project that will contribute to the development of the Greek economy, by creating thousands of jobs”, he pointed out.
Before finishing his introduction, he stated that “the financing agreement for the historic project of the revival and reactivation of the Elefsina Shipyards was signed, while the “Stratis G. Andreadis” Floating Tank was inaugurated, the most modern in Greece and one of the largest in Europe. The choice of financing by the American investment organization DFC highlights the pivotal importance of Greece’s largest Shipyards in Elefsina as a geostrategic hub of the wider Eastern Mediterranean region. He even underlined that “the country’s productive potential in defense, energy and shipping is significantly strengthened, spreading a message of investment extroversion. We are continuing our development work, so that the shipyards will develop into a driver of growth and a catalyst for innovation and entrepreneurship in Western Attica”.
Concluding his introduction, the government representative stated that the EIB loan agreement with DEDDIE for the project of “smart” meters was signed a while ago, in the presence of the Prime Minister which aims to create an integrated measurement management ecosystem, reducing costs for the end consumer and contributing to the digital and operational transformation of DEDDIE” and quoted the prime minister’s program for the next few days.

The amounts are restructured with an increase of 8%, and for those applications that will be approved from 1.12.2023 they amount to
- to 216 euros instead of 200 euros per month for a one-person household,
- 108 euros instead of 100 euros for each additional adult member
- and 54 euros instead of 50 euros for each minor member.
The maximum guaranteed amount is 972 euros per month, regardless of the composition of the household.

On Thursday, November 9 the Prime Minister will go to Paris where he will attend the International Conference on humanitarian aid in Gaza which is being held at the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron.
On Friday, November 10 the Supreme Council of Greece-Cyprus Cooperation will be held in Athens.
The work of the Supreme Council will be attended by the Ministers Mr. Giorgos Gerapetritis, Mr. Nikos Dendias, Mr. Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Mr. Michalis Chrysochoidis, Mr. Theodoros Skylakakis, Mr. Yiannis Oikonomou, Mr. Dimitris Kairidis, Mr. Vassilis Kikilias, and Lina Mendoni and Mr. Christos Stylianidis”.
