“We are doing what we pledged in July 2019, to make Greece the most entrepreneurial and investment friendly country on the planet and to provide the Greek people with the prosperity they deserve.” This was stated by Minister of Development and Investment, Adonis Georgiadis, in a statement after disclosure of its analysis International Financial Institute (Institute of International Finance, IIF) which shows, as stated, that the Hellas is champion of investment for the period from the 4th quarter of 2019 to the 4th quarter of 2021.
The minister also notes in his statement that the government is accelerating, even more, its development pace by promoting reforms.
The statement of the minister is as follows:
“Greece is the champion of investments in the period from the 4th quarter of 2019 to the 4th quarter of 2021, according to an analysis by the Institute of International Finance (IIF). At this time, the rate of real growth of investments (gross fixed capital formation) is approaching 20% in Greece, a performance that makes our country a world champion of investments and in fact by a large margin from the second country, while in the eurozone there is a decline of 10%.
This is another important recognition of the very long distance that Greece has traveled since the last time in the eurozone in investments in June 2019 in one of the most attractive investment destinations in the world. As well as for another brilliant link in the chain of extremely positive news of the last days with the very large investments of JP Morgan, Microsoft, Amazon and many other global giants and dynamic Greek companies, which show in practice their confidence in its prospects. Greek economy as well as the performance in the growth of employment (unemployment at the lowest level of the last 10 years) and the improvement of the economic environment (the index at the highest point since 2000). In this positive environment, we are accelerating our development pace even more by promoting reforms, with the new Development Law at the top, which we just voted in the Parliament the day before yesterday and we are activating in the coming weeks “.
