The reasons why they left yesterday’s meeting of the Central Committee of SYRIZA-PS are mentioned in a joint statement by its members, Dionysis Teboneras, Fotis Lambrinidis, Haris Tsiokas, Christos Lambridis, assuring at the same time that they remain members of the party.

In their joint statement, they express their objections in relation to yesterday’s speech by the president of the party, as well as the possibility of an internal party referendum on the removal of the four executives.

In their joint statement they state:

A) After the election of the president, with a public statement we made it clear that we respect the result of the electoral process and stand by it.

-However, we emphasized that our association does not imply joining individual collectives. We are members, executives, of the specific political organization and we are consciously bound by the party’s statutes, the decisions of the conferences, the Central Committee, the principles and values ​​of the renewing radical left, of democratic socialism. The absolute priority for us is to respond to the emergency situation that the average Greek family has found itself in.

B) At yesterday’s KE meeting, we were forced, despite our wish, to leave because:

-The introductory speech of the party president, Comrade Stefanos Kasselakis, was contradictory and disorienting from the necessity of the party to express the needs of the people, and led to introversion

-We believed and still believe that it is time to activate the popular factor, and the many thousands of members and executives of the party, with coordinated collective functions to start the extroverted conference procedures immediately. Now is not the time for “referendums” of deletions and arrangements, for arrangements supporting the insecurity of persons.

C) We insist on the need to formulate an alternative, to the pursuits of the systemic centers, a political plan with calculation and vision that will promote the way out of the crisis!

The proposal tabled and debated will lead to the opposite.

In adjournment of the conference for an unspecified time but also without substantial participation of the members of the executives and the popular factor.

We are not prepared to give a blank check either to one-person institutions or to gatherings without ideological political depth.

We asked and we are asking for an extroverted concrete political plan ending with the conference. We are members of the party, we remain in it unwaveringly supporting the principles and values ​​we mentioned in the introduction.
