Regarding the need for SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance to march on the next day, with the aim of talking about the real problems of the citizens and forming an opposition to the ND, spoke the press representative of the party, Dora Augeri, speaking to “MEGA”.

“We’re talking about the next day. No one is happy or pleased. SYRIZA-PS moves forward, strengthened by stubbornness and zeal, focused on the real problems of society. People want proposals, they want solutions for what concerns them today,” he said.

“At 12 o’clock today, the president of SYRIZA-PS will visit the Competition Commission. The previous week he had gone around almost all of Athens, he had gone to areas of the Peloponnese, precisely to be close to the citizens and their problems. SYRIZA-PS remains committed to this direction”, pointed out Dora Avgeri. “Some chose other paths. They will no longer be evaluated only for what they say about SYRIZA. They will be evaluated for what they say and what they do for society and for their opposition to the prime minister and the ND,” he added.

When asked if there were efforts for unity by the leadership of the party, Dora Avgeri emphasized: “can anyone claim that Stefanos Kasselakis did not make and does not continue to make every unifying effort?”.

“In no other party has a new president been so slandered in this way. The criticism we saw in the previous period, even the most ill-intentioned, crossed any line of tolerance, not only from the president of the party himself, but, I think, from every sensitive, democratic and fair person”, he noted.

Asked if SYRIZA-PS needs the historical leaders, she said: “obviously, but for two months now we have been hearing a lot of words, too much gray matter was consumed, not for a good purpose.” “The words that came out of the mouth were not to offer unity or even to advise the new president. They were said precisely to hurt unity, to hurt the image and, in the final analysis, to discourage the people themselves,” pointed out Dora Avgeri.

“In yesterday’s speech at the closing of the Central Committee, the president of SYRIZA-PS essentially said that we are “resetting to zero”, that we are all going together to work for the common goal. Without groups, without trends, the only trend is the democratic trend, i.e. the base of SYRIZA-PS. After all, this is what the world wants”, he underlined.

“Finally, let’s leave the landscape clear in order to oppose Mr. Mitsotakis and New Democracy”, concluded Dora Avgeri.
