After we have left and been deleted from SYRIZA, what concerns us is how we will come up with a plan and how we will put it forward, said Dimitris Vitsas speaking to SKAI, explaining that at this stage he is talking about a new political body.

When asked if others will leave SYRIZA, he said that all over Greece people are leaving the organizations and estimated that executives will also leave the Central Committee.

To a question about Efi Ahtsioglou, he answered that it is his wish that they meet.

Referring to SYRIZA, he said that it has moved and that it no longer belongs to the radical Left. According to the opinion polls, as he said, the citizens classify him in the center-right, the delivery of Stefanos Kasselakis’ political speech is problematic.

When asked who will be the winner from this whole process, he replied that it will be seen in the next period of time, with the first stop being the European elections, and added that the dominant issue is who will set the agenda.

“Right now Mr. Mitsotakis is setting the agenda,” he said.

Commenting on what Mr. Kasselakis said, he characteristically said that what he said about the 5th phalanx is “in the realm of the ridiculous. He wasn’t in Greece, he wasn’t in SYRIZA, we don’t know if he voted for SYRIZA, and he comes and says things he doesn’t know about SYRIZA. So someone told him.”

For those who left Koumoundourou, he said that this shows courage. “We are not going to something unknown, we are going to the meeting of the forces of the radical left and the formation of a political space that will shape developments. Stefanos Kasselakis will be left with a small group with no organizations at all and a very convenient and 19th century concept of a party. When asked if Mr. Kasselakis can beat Mr. Mitsotakis, he answered: “I don’t think he can beat Mitsotakis, but even if he wins, what will he offer to the country?”

And he went on to say that in the speech of Mr. Kasselalis there is a right-wing perception, as well as the perception that it is politics to speak in a coarse manner. “And a 7-year-old child says these things,” he said and added that “shallowness is also a political point of view.”

With reference to MERA 25, he explained how he recognized that he is in the forces of the radical Left. “If there is a collective leadership and not the recruit leader we can meet” he said characteristically.

Finally he said about SYRIZA: I have no interest in SYRIZA, it has moved, it is something different. Should I submit to this? I say clearly and beautifully, I can’t.”
