For the situation in Middle East and the views of the Palestinian leadership was updated today, Thursday the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgos Gerapetritiswho paid a visit to the headquarters of the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah and met with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki and the Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh.

Specifically, Mr. Gerapetritis discussed the proposal he has already formulated for humanitarian pause and the ways of our country’s contribution to create sustainable humanitarian corridors in Gaza with the aim of the uninterrupted supply of basic goods (water, food, medicine) and medical services, as well as the restoration of damaged basic infrastructure (water and electricity networks).

After completing his contacts in the West Bank, Mr. Gerapetritis went to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem, where he had a one-on-one meeting with Israeli Minister Foreign Eli Cohen. Mr. Gerapetritis discussed the situation in the area and conveyed to his counterpart the concerns of the Palestinian side for the ever-worsening humanitarian crisis.

As confirmed by the meetings, Greece remains a reliable and sincere interlocutor of all parties and will continue the effort at all levels for the most immediate relief of civilians and affected people.
