“There is an alternative, there is a plan, there is a perspective in the context of our European path,” said the head of the KOSMOS movement
On Thursday, he announced his departure from the SYRIZA Eurogroup Petros Kokkalisemphasizing for the future that “I will participate in the joint effort to provide an answer to the political vacuum that exists”.
His statement in more detail:
“The acceptance of the honorary invitation of Alexis to participate as a KOSMOS movement in the European ballot of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance in the 2019 European elections and the trust of the citizens gave us the opportunity and responsibility to fight for the strengthening of political action on the climate and the promotion of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Today, with my exit from his Eurogroup SYRIZA-PS a circle closes, but nothing ends here.
The next steps are not a personal matter but a collective one as there is an intense and fertile anxiety in the progressive world for effective solutions to the world’s problems.
I will participate in the joint effort to provide an answer to the political vacuum that exists.
In the immediate future we will have the opportunity to synthesize and lay the foundations for a human tomorrow, with dignity and safety for all, in terms of social and climate justice.

We owe a big thank you to Alexis Tsipras, as well as the Eurogroup and the members and voters of SYRIZA-PS for trust and cooperation.
