Clear positions, unifying and with messages in every direction… Kostas Zachariadis made it clear that he is not going to leave SYRIZA, even though he did not vote for Stefanos Kasselakisbut her Efi Ahtsiogloueven calling the further fragmentation of the party a “serious mistake”.

“I remain determined. I consider it a serious, political mistake, the further fragmentation of an area that is suffering. An area that was defeated in two electoral battles and must be regrouped”, he emphasized to ERT and continued:

“I am neither with Ahtsioglou, nor with Kasselakis, nor with Pappa, nor with Tzoumakas, nor with anyone. I’m Zachariadis and I’ve been in Greece since I was 17 Coalition and SYRIZA. And it’s my home, I love it and it’s my whole life. They are my values, our values, our paths, our struggles. It is the party which became the government and won two electoral battles and it is a party which in any case was voted by a million people in the last election. He did an internal procedure. I did not vote for Mr. Kasselakis, I voted for Mrs. Ahtsioglou. But I recognize the result. This is the result. I like it, I don’t like it.”

“But it is wrong to further fragment an area, which is already fragmented. That is, if we go to this negative development, if we do not manage to prevent it, what will we have? We will have four small and medium-sized parties in the progressive spectrum. Who does this thing favor? The one who has 40%. And I think that in any case the channels of communication must remain open and there must be an effort in the second year for a broader political consensus in the progressive space. And that obviously includes PASOK»he concluded in his statements.
