During the debate in the Parliament on the reconstruction measures of Thessaly, Evros-N. Androulakis submitted comprehensive proposals for the disasters while announcing that in early December PASOK will organize a conference
“Problems don’t really have a color or party, but the responsibilities have a specific color and party, Mr. Mitsotakis”, answered the president of PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakisto the Prime Minister, in his speech at the Pre-Day Order debate in the Parliament on the reconstruction process of Thessaly.
Mr. Androulakis even pointed out, addressing the Prime Minister: “The treaty “Tolerate us” did not apply. There is no more fear of SYRIZA-ANEL, there is a strong progressive alternative proposal”.
Raising the tone of his criticism, he underlined: “You have ruled for 5 years. The candidates you supported ran 11 of the 13 districts. You were speaking the same political language, to use your own doctrine. So what went wrong? And why should the Greek citizens trust you that you will do better now. For 5 years now, in every mistake, in every failure, it was enough to simply utter three words: “Government of SYRIZA/ANEL”. This condition, mind you, has changed drastically. “It’s the previous ones’ fault” doesn’t work anymore because now you are the previous ones and you are faced with the problems you didn’t solve and the ones you created. Stop brandishing your voter turnout as a purgatory of your responsibilities. Take off the blinders of your arrogance. You insult the trust of those who voted for you with such behaviors.”
The president of PASOK-Movement for Change added that the consensus exists but there must also be the mood for it as challenges of this magnitude require consultation and national solutions.
“The climate crisis cannot be an alibi for all responsibilities. The magic word is “Resilience”, said the president of PASOK-KINAL while simultaneously criticizing the government for using a la carte and discrediting scientific institutes, such as the Observatory and the Copernicus system for their warnings.
Mr. Androulakis argued that two years the Ministry for Civil Protection is an empty shell, according to the confession of the competent minister and has not managed to utilize the AEGIS program of 2 billion euros while his change is announced. “For us it is yet another proof of your bogus reform agenda. You don’t do reforms, you are content with simple arrangements and shop window changes. Your purpose is not to intervene reformatively to deal with chronic pathologies, but your goal is to make it appear that something is changing while everything remains absolutely the same in order to maintain micro-powers”, underlined Mr. Androulakis.
Criticizing the government, he said that it has not even identified the risks and how Greece is the only country in the European Union that has not yet updated its Civil Protection maps as it should.
For the disaster in Thessaly he mentioned how its reconstruction cannot be limited to a water management company but requires a holistic plan that will include the regeneration of the production model, resilient infrastructure and revitalization of economic activity and employment.
He repeated the sentence which he had submitted to the TIF for the creation of an independent body, a task force in European standards, which will ensure transparency and speed, consisting of the prime minister, the competent ministers and the regional governor and will be assisted by a group of technocrats and experts and solves problems and malfunctions immediately. “It cannot be tolerated that he does in Thessaly, in Evros, in Rhodes, in Evia and where the people of the labor were affected, what the government of the New Republic did during the restoration of Ilia. Wherever, even today, projects of the former “Molyviatis Fund” are implemented or auctioned, Nikos Androulakis pointed out.
The president of PASOK-Movement for Change made a more specific statement mention of the major problems faced by farmers stressing that the regeneration of the production model in the affected areas must be done in terms of resilience of agricultural systems and protection of biodiversity and integrated water management planning in Thessaly.
particularly for Evros, Mr. Androulakis announced that at the beginning of December, PASOK will organize a conferencea with the local community and scientists, for the revitalization of the rare ecosystem of Dadia and the burned areas in Rhodopi and Evros, with the development of an integrated and effective model of administration and management of forest fires.
