It is noted that Mr. Skylakakis spoke in front of a large number of businesses interested in investing in YAP.
The government’s plan for the development of Offshore Wind Farms (OHF) was presented by the Minister of Environment and Energy, Thodoros Skylakakis, in the context of his speech, today, at a day of the Hellenic Scientific Association of Wind Energy (ELETAEN) on the supply chain in Offshore Wind Parks.
The minister noted that the successive tenders for the PPE will be held in clearly predetermined schedules, to enable supply chain companies to invest.
In this direction, the State will undertake additional actions of studies, data collection and licensing, with the aim of making them available to all interested prospective producers and finally offering them fully developed projects, which will have completed the whole if possible of their environmental licensing. In this way, the interested parties who will be invited to compete for the projects, will have been freed from the risk of development, for the benefit, above all, of the consumer.
Furthermore, Mr. Skylakakis underlined the need for the development of energy production from YAP to be accompanied by the development of a domestic supply chain for the construction and servicing of the production facilities. Development, which will maximize the expected benefit for the national economy, society and the investments themselves.
“Greece can become a protagonist for many decades in a very large sector, with tens of thousands of jobs, with huge energy investments, with a dramatic reduction of the country’s dependence on energy imports. And not only Greece, but also the whole of SE Europe to have greater energy security” said the minister characteristically.
It is noted that Mr. Skylakakis spoke in front of a large number of businesses interested in investing in YAP.
In addition to the wind companies, executives from shipyards, ports, metallurgy, cable, cement, shipping companies, technology companies, etc. participated in the conference.
