“Revisionism is not only a threat to the security of states. It also threatens the very prosperity of citizens and societies and for this reason we must be ready and strong to face it together, through a very broad network of actions, partnerships, synergies aimed at promoting the flags, states and societies that they share the same principles and values for International Law and an order on the planet. The Greek flag stands proudly in this space of states that have these values and these perceptions”.

He pointed out these among other things the Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendiasin his greeting, on the occasion of the conduct of the final phase of the transnational Post-Troop Exercise (TAMS) “Olympic Cooperation 23” at Petrochorio Shooting Range, Xanthiwith the participation of the armed forces of Greece and ground forces from the USA, France, the Republic of Cyprus, Bulgaria and Georgia.

Observers from Egypt, Albania, Armenia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, India, the Republic of Cyprus, Romania and Saudi Arabia also attended.

“The presence of all these countries here in Thrace proves the expanded role that our motherland, Greece, has acquired in the context of the alliance and the defense of our common values and principles,” the Greek minister further commented.

At the same time, Mr. Dendias expressed his particular satisfaction both for the size of the French presence in the exercise, which as he and the present ambassador of France Laurence Auer pointed out “is the largest presence of French ground forces in Greece and in this region after A World War”, as well as for the use of the port of Alexandroupoli by the allied forces, in the context of “Olympic Cooperation 23”.

“It is the result of the Strategic Relationship Agreement (including the presence of French forces) which bears my signature as Foreign Minister of the previous Mitsotakis government. Rarely do ministers have the happiness of seeing the favorable consequences of what they have signed in practice. The first agreement signed with the United States put the port of Alexandroupolis on the geopolitical map, as the main entrance for communication with the eastern wing of NATO and the reinforcement in this eastern wing of the countries that are fighting and defending international law,” he recalled Mr. Dendias.

The Minister of National Defense thanked the commanders and staff of the forces that participated in the TAMS “for this excellent presence in today’s exercise and for your contribution to the joint effort to protect the principles of International Law and legitimacy in humanity” while in a previous remark of the American colonel that many of them are far from their homes he said that “here in Greece you will always be at home”.
