This week started with good news for gov.gr and ends with even better news! gov.gr, therefore, was in 2nd place, among 70 companies and organizations regarding the experience of the consumer or even better of the citizen in this particular case.

The best brand of the Greek public sector, since according to the research the first brand in appeal/attractiveness to the Greek public was a corporate one, it continues to make our daily life easier and certainly friendlier in every interaction we have with the public sector.

In the month of October alone, 30 new services were added to gov.gr. Practically speaking, this translates into a new service for every day of October.

30 services from 15 Ministries, Independent Authorities and Agencies

The Ministry of Digital Governance, continuing the citizen-centered design of services, which has already been adopted with great success since the previous four years, bearing fruit and gaining the trust of citizens, continues dynamically. The new services added concern 15 different Ministries, Independent Authorities and Public Bodies.

Among them, one can find: the applications for subsidies for temporary housing and business compensation for those affected by the floods, the certificate of polytechnic status, the voucher for the conversion of buildings into “smart” ones from the program Smart Readiness, the six different electronic services of EL.AS. such as the objection for a certificate of violation and many more.

The numbers speak better…
At the moment, gov.gr already provides 1,602 digital services. How does this translate? To 8,301,530 distinct citizens, who have issued at least one document or submitted an electronic declaration through gov.gr from its inception until October 2023.
Or if we want to translate it into visits to: This is practically 259,145,465 distinct visits by citizens to gov.gr, which resulted in the issuance of at least one document or the submission of an electronic statement.

Citizen-centric Millestone

The goal for gov.gr has already been set by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis himself since the first day of the Government for the new four-year period. Everything starts and ends with the citizen, with the goal that the Digital Portal of the Greek State should reach the end of 2027 to integrate all the administrative procedures of the Greek State. This practically means that on gov.gr “the next day” we should be able to digitally find any of the nearly 5000 (!) government procedures from our computer or mobile screen.

Here comes the Digital Assistant

The Ministry of Digital Governance is already working in parallel with the faster integration of the procedures in gov.gr and for the entry of Artificial Intelligence into the State. In the coming days, when we log in to gov.gr, we will be able to chat in writing or by voice with the digital assistant, who will help us easily and quickly find exactly what we are looking for among the more than 1600 procedures of gov.gr and the 3000 MITOS procedures

“Our goal is to daily improve the experience of citizens in their contact with the State and to achieve at the end of the four years the milestone set by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to have digitized all State procedures”, states, among other things, in his post Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou.

“Because everything starts and ends with the citizen”, added Mr. Papastergiou
