Changing the page and returning to the internal affairs, the government moves forward, leaving behind the indecent attitude of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, by canceling his meeting with the Greek Prime Minister. Speaking to journalists, during his departure from the graduation ceremony of the Social Reintegration Unit of OKANA, Kyriakos Mitsotakis put a “full stop” to Mr. Sunak’s inappropriate and offensive behavior and when asked about it, he jokingly replied that “I don’t i did nothing Only my presence”. He added that “we will not get involved in Britain’s internal politics”. Given that the assessments of analysts and politicians converge on the fact that all the unacceptable attitude of the British Prime Minister stems from the pre-election period, which the country has already entered in view of the 2024 elections and the poll collapse of Rishi Sunak against his political opponents, the Keir Starmer’s Labour.

Domestically now, the prime minister and the government will remain committed to reforms and systematic work. A message that Kyriakos Mitsotakis will not stop broadcasting at every opportunity and in every direction, seeking immediate and visible results for the citizen and everyday life.

The bills that will be discussed today by the Council of Ministers, which will meet at 11 am under the leadership of the Prime Minister at Megaros Maximos, also serve these goals.

At the top of the agenda is the presentation by the Minister of National Economy and Finance Kostis Hatzidakis and Deputy Minister Thanos Petralias of the State Budget 2024. It is the first budget in 14 years drawn up after the recovery of the investment grade and among other things includes increases in the salaries of the public sector Employees – the first since 2010 – restores the “frozen” three-year terms of employees since 2012, and the place of the extraordinary support measures is taken by permanent tax reductions that reach 1.6 billion euros as a counterweight to inflation. In his usual Sunday post, Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that “If we wanted to describe the new budget in one sentence, I would say that it is developmental, it is inspired by social sensitivity, but it does not deviate from the rails of fiscal consistency”.

Then, at the meeting of the Council of Ministers, the Minister of Environment and Energy Theodoros Skylakakis will present the bill for adapting to climate change, achieving urban resilience, protecting the environment and suppressing arbitrary construction.

The Minister of Health, Michalis Chrysochoidis, will present the bill for the National Trauma System, while the Minister of Justice, Giorgos Floridis, and the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Sofia Zacharakis, will present fundraising bills of their Ministries. George Floridis will also introduce the
President of the Court of Auditors and Sofia Zaharaki will propose the amendment of the Act of the Council of Ministers for the establishment and operation of the Government Commission for the Social Integration of the Roma.
