Strakosa: “The last games have taught us enough lessons – To prove who we really are”

On Sunday night (21:00) the leader of the standings AEK welcomes at OPAP Arena the PAOKin the big double-header derby of the 7th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League.

Speaking to the Cosmote TV camera, the “Union” goalkeeper, Thomas Strakosastated among other things that the last games taught Nikolic’s team many lessons and that concentration and a clear mind will play a key role in tomorrow’s game.

On Albania’s win over Serbia and whether his personal performance gives him even more confidence:



“Thank God, it is a very important victory for our national team. On a personal level, I wouldn’t say that, because it was important for us as a country in the football part, because we took a step towards the World Cup. So, it gives me confidence and I’m happy to go back to the team and that’s the most important thing.”

For the lesson the game against Kifissia gave them:

“In general, the last games have taught us several lessons. One of them is that we have to come in fully focused from the first minute because we have shown that we give enough minutes to the other teams to dominate the match. And they do us several phases, which they shouldn’t, for our size. So, we have to go in better prepared, more focused, start from the first minute and not from the 45th minute onwards”.

For the game against PAOK:

“For sure it will be a very difficult game because they also have a very good team. They have proven that they have coped very well in difficult matches. For us it is the first derby, I really want to see how we will do and how we will prove that we are a great team on the field as well. So I’m quite looking forward to Sunday.”



On whether concentration will play the dominant role:



“I believe in concentration and a clear mind. We have to have both together to prove who we really are and not dwell on what we could have done better.”
