Qatar intervened for the resumption of IDF military operations in Gaza, stressing that Israeli bombardment “complicate efforts” to return to the truce.

In his statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar “expresses his deep regret for the resumption of the Israeli attack on Gaza”.

He stresses that talks are continuing on resuming the ceasefire, but adds that “the continued shelling of the Gaza Strip in the early hours after the end of the ceasefire is complicating mediation efforts and exacerbates the humanitarian disaster in the Strip.”

“The State of Qatar reiterates its condemnation of any form of targeting of civilians,” the statement added.

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu however, he stressed that Hamas did not agree to release other hostages, violating the terms of the ceasefire, and that Israel remains committed to achieving its goals of eliminating the organization.

One hour before the scheduled end of the ceasefire, at 07:00 am (local and Greek time), Israel announced that it had intercepted a rocket fired from Gaza. At the same time, air raid sirens sounded again in areas of Israel near the Palestinian enclave, the army added.
