We are very well prepared, we are not naive, the director of the prime minister’s press office emphasized, among other things
The director of the Prime Minister’s Press Office, Dimitris Tsiodras, spoke about Erdogan’s visit to Athens and Greek-Turkish relations, on ANT1’s “Morning Greece” show.
Speaking about the Supreme Council of Cooperation between Greece and Turkey that will be held in Athens on Thursday, Mr. Tsiodras emphasized that “the intention of the Greek government is to go one step further”.
“We will co-exist with Turkey, but it does not mean that any disagreement we have should every time lead to the “red” or lead to crises”, Mr. Tsiodras continued.
“We are very well prepared, we are not naive. What we want to emphasize is the positive agenda. Greece does not come to the table fearfully, it comes with self-confidence”, Mr. Tsiodras pointed out. “The Greek government does not discuss issues of national sovereignty. The issues that will be discussed concern issues of economic cooperation, issues of immigration cooperation, issues of civil protection. This is the agenda and we are proceeding based on this,” he added.
“Beyond that, the difference we have in relation to the delimitation of maritime zones, EEZ and continental shelf is known. It is not an issue that can be resolved now. We are moving forward on issues that we can cooperate on and this will be to the benefit of both countries”, underlined Mr. Tsiodras.
