With the position that Ankara wishes to include more issues, “interrelated” with the continental shelf and the EEZ, in a possible appeal to international justice, the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will arrive in Athens tomorrow morning.

In his exclusive interview with “Kathimerini”, Mr. Erdogan characteristically notes that “there are many interrelated issues that need to be resolved apart from the continental shelf. We must consider them as a whole. The selective approach is not correct.”

Mr. Erdogan states that the Turkish will to solve the Greek-Turkish problems “is strong” and calls for a “similar approach” and without “external interventions from the Greek side.”

The Turkish president also says that his statement “we may come overnight suddenly” was about “terrorist elements that threaten the security of our country” and emphasizes that “the structural integrity of the Hagia Sophia will not be damaged both materially and spiritually.”

Regarding immigration, he is asking for the help of the EU. but also of the international community.
