In two pillars, the government is determined to support and develop its “defense” against fan violence inside and outside the stadiums, in order to fight and in the end to win the sport.

Given that for the Maximos Palace believes that violence and crime have no color and do not belong exclusively to one group, the first leg of its efforts to fight violence is focused inside the stadiums, declaring itself unmoved by the measures it has announced but also by others – perhaps even more strictly – if those responsible do not comply with the existing ones. In this climate, the government continues to urge sports teams to follow the rules set by the state and the law in order to accelerate the “cleansing” and suppression of violence and criminal acts within the playing fields and to place on the one hand high definition cameras so that the Authorities can see who is doing what, while the tickets are nominal so that identification can be done in any case. “The teams should put into practice the commitments they have made towards the State” the Government Ministers involved declare in all tones, with the government representative referring to the games behind closed doors until February 12 and stressing: “We are doing sacrifice for two months. Within these months, the law should be implemented”, he said, noting also the tightening of penalties with the new Penal Code and the new disciplinary measures that will be announced by Yiannis Vroutsis in the coming days.

The second institutional pillar, which is estimated to contribute decisively to the end of violence in stadiums, is, as the government demonstrated in practice with the visit to the Areopagus of the Minister of Citizen Protection and the Deputy Minister of Sports, Justice. In fact, from the first moment of the events in Rentis, the government showed that it does not focus individually on the incidents of violence inside or outside the stadiums in recent times, but is convinced that only a global and universal approach to violence will bring results to combat it.

“Let’s use all the weapons we have, throw all the weapons into battle along with the rest, the institutional and legislative ones, and push in the direction of solving this case,” said the Deputy Minister of Sports, Yannis Vroutsis, in an interview. referring to the visit to the Supreme Court and the need to examine and investigate every aspect of the violence as it manifests itself. “When we talk about guides, about prioritization, about financial interests, about recruitment, it shows that all these constitute a criminal organization and we must as a coordinated state, we the relevant ministers, under the guidelines of the prime minister himself and the government and the initiatives that takes, let’s go and see this side through the Justice” said Mr. Vroutsis.

Accordingly, the Minister of Citizen Protection, Yiannis Oikonomou, stated on SKAI television that “justice must at some point weigh and weigh things and intervene and set the limit itself, attributing the responsibilities of inciting this type of behavior, willy-nilly or not.” .
