“This political will does not stop only at creating security conditions, but reaches to the “armies” that operate. Who is financing them?” said the director of the Prime Minister’s press office, Dimitris Tsiodras
The director of the Prime Minister’s press office, Dimitris Tsiodras, spoke to Dimitris Oikonomou and Akis Pavlopoulos on SKAI television about dealing with fan violence and the incidents at Rentis.
“Those who operate in these ways are not fans. This is a normal criminal organization,” Mr. Tsiodras emphasized, speaking about those involved in incidents of fan violence. “That’s why yesterday two ministers went to the Supreme Court in order to submit whatever evidence they have. These are some elements that the Court will look for. They also have names of people who have been involved in such cases. There are statements, there are some who support this whole situation,” he added.
“The political will exists”, Mr. Tsiodras pointed out, adding that “this political will does not stop only at creating security conditions at the stadiums, but reaches all the way to the “armies” that operate in the form of criminal organizations. Who guides them? Who finances them?”, he underlined.
“Some things have happened recently. It’s not enough, it’s clear. And that is why these measures are being taken now,” noted Mr. Tsiodras referring to the measures announced on Monday and added that “the state will not be given to anyone, wherever they are. The judiciary will see the files, it will take the specific actions it needs to take.”
