Intense criticism of the government with an emphasis on the economy and security, SYRIZA PS sources say, stating that the official opposition is watching the government “hold society captive with its pernicious choices, having created an ‘explosive cocktail'”.

They note that the SYRIZA PS will fight hard with the government and that it is moving forward by creating a comprehensive plan that will provide answers to the major issues.

They argue in particular that the government “committed since 2019 to the safety and well-being of citizens and 4.5 years later it has not only failed to deliver on its promises, but continues to make empty promises.” Specifically, they state: “punctuality brings households to their knees and the Christmas table seems out of reach for most citizens. Mr. Hatzidakis celebrates, citing the Economist, while this particular ranking is the result of stock market gains alone. Stocks rose by 40%, as did VAT receipts from 2021 to today, but in other indicators our country is in the middle and below.” The same sources comment that “consequently, together with Mr. Hatzidakis, the listed companies that had profits of 10.5 billion Euros can also celebrate. That is, banks and energy companies, which are scandalously favored by the ND’s choices. Households and small businesses are simply paying the price of stock market gains.” In the same context, they report that “the prime minister triumphed yesterday in Parliament about his government’s economic policy, proving that it is out of place and time and far from the needs of the citizens”, while they comment that “in the only issue that proves to be ‘consistent’, it is the discrediting of institutions, the rule of law and the circumvention of the Constitution.

The sources of SYRIZA note that “at the same time, the phenomena of violence and crime have reached uncontrollable proportions: A 29-year-old police officer of the DI.AS group. working on a meager salary, lost his life and another was injured. Three people were seriously injured in a barrage of gunfire in Ghazi.”

They emphasize that “the ND-Mitsotakis government came to power under the guise of order and security and has been associated with the worst period of extreme crime” and that “it has managed to lead the citizens to absolute insecurity”. “Insecurity for: life, property, state apparatus, welfare state, rule of law, punctuality, taxation, real income,” they add.
