They are redefined from 1.1.2024 the monthly salaries of ministers, deputy ministers and deputy ministers who do not have parliamentary status, with an amendment provision submitted to the multi-law bill of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance. The fees of the ministers who have parliamentary status, continue and are determined in proportion to the parliamentary compensations.

The provision states that:

1. The gross monthly salaries of ministers and deputy ministers who do not have parliamentary status are determined at a rate of ninety percent (90%) of the gross monthly salaries and allowances of the president of the Supreme Court, as defined by the current wage law for the salaries of judicial officials.

2. The gross monthly salaries of deputy ministers who do not have parliamentary status are determined at a rate of eighty percent (80%) of the gross monthly salaries and allowances of the president of the Supreme Court, as defined by the current salary law for the salaries of judicial officials.

According to the explanatory report, the proposed arrangement is deemed necessary in order for the salaries of ministers, deputy ministers and deputy ministers who do not hold parliamentary status to be in proportion to the increased salaries of the top executives of the public administration from 1.1.2024.

More specifically:

From 1/1/2024 the monthly compensation of the General Secretary of the Ministry and the Service Secretary increasing from 4,631 gross (about 2,913 net) to 5,121 gross (about 3,145 net).

On the contrary the Ministerial compensation (both of the Minister and of the Deputy) is equal to the parliamentary compensation, which amounts to 5,135 gross (about 3,152 net). It is noted that the Parliamentary Minister receives, in addition to the parliamentary compensation, approximately 1,865 euros net for postage, office expenses, travel, etc., so that the net salary is approximately 5,017 euros (for provincial deputies, it amounts to up to 5,540 euros).

THE non-parliamentary Minister, Deputy Minister and Deputy Minister they only receive the parliamentary compensation without the above.

As a consequence of the above, from 1/1/2024 the General and Service Secretary they will receive the same money as the extra-parliamentary Minister (today they receive 10% less).

Layout Prediction:

In order to resolve the above issue the monthly compensation of the extra-parliamentary Minister and Deputy Minister is set equal to 90% of the President of the Supreme Court (which amounts to 8,426). It will therefore be 7,583 gross or 4,416 net.

The monthly compensation of the extra-parliamentary Deputy Minister is set equal to 80% of the President of the Supreme Court. It will therefore be set at 6,740 gross or 3,944 net.

In this way:
• The Secretary General will receive 3,145
• The extra-parliamentary Deputy Minister 3,944
• The extra-parliamentary Minister 4,416
• The Parliamentary Minister-Deputy Minister and Member of Parliament 5,017
