The conclusions drawn from the Pulse poll about SKAI – What it showed about PASOK and SYRIZA
By Antonis Anzoletou
The Pulse survey, published in SKAI’s main news bulletinconfirms the picture so far that the parties of the center-left cannot stand up against the hegemony of New Republic.
In the vote estimate, the blue faction registers a small drop, falling to 37% (-1%), however the “five” of the center-left space (SYRIZA, PASOK, Pleussi Eleftherias, New Left, MERA25) seem to be unable to take advantage of the pressure that the government accepts from everyday life and above all from the major issue of accuracy. It is characteristic that together they gather exactly the percentage of the blue faction: SYRIZA 14% (losing half a point compared to a month ago), PASOK 15% (fixed), Freedom Sailing 3% (stable), New Left 2.5% and MePA25 2.5% (-1%). The KKE is still moving in high percentages (10%), although it fell by 0.5%.
As the European elections approach, the conclusions are safer, at least for the centre-left. PASOK seems to be looking for a dynamic, an “outbreak” that will help it stand out. They are talking to Harilaou Trikoupi about consolidating themselves in second place, however they have not made a safe difference yet. SYRIZA, although the split has been completed, does not manage to escape from the spiral of poll decline. Conference proceedings will begin in full swing from the new year. The Central Organizing Committee of the Conference will meet this afternoon. In the New Left they move below the threshold of 3%. They argue that the venture is still very young – it has not taken the form of a party – and advise patience. Freedom Sailing and the Day25 who are obviously being pressured by the new parliamentary group that has been formed in Parliament.
On the right “apartment building” profits are shown by Greek solution reaching 6%. THE Kyriakos Velopoulos has invested and has raised the opposition tones very high on national issues, but also on issues such as civil marriage and the procreation of same-sex couples. As for the rest of the parliamentary forces, the Spartans are recorded, according to Pulse, at 3.5% (remaining stable) and Niki at 3.5% (+0.5%).
Based on the research, it is easy to conclude that accuracy in the market will be at the center of the opposition parties in the next period. 88% of respondents answered that they are very or somewhat concerned about price increases. Elections are won by the economy, why not the European elections? If, in fact, the rule that the European vote has more relaxed characteristics is confirmed, all the parties will want to collect part of the dissatisfaction that exists in society. The government, at the same time, seems to have taken its pulse on other issues, as the majority of respondents, 54%, would like or have no problem allowing non-state universities to operate. 30% say “no” and 5% say they are indifferent.
The most conservative “instincts” of Greek society are highlighted by the answers to the question about the procreation of same-sex couples. 56% see legal recognition negatively or rather negatively and 36% definitely or rather positively. After all, it is an issue that has not yet matured even in the public debate and objections seem to exist even within SYRIZA. In the question about the civil marriage of same-sex couples, things are divided with 46% seeing it rather or definitely negatively and 45% probably or definitely positively. The government is expected to bring the specific bill to Parliament within 2024.
