The government will follow the major reform in higher education and the creation of non-state – non-profit universities in 2024, inaugurating a “reform” year in a number of important sectors.
Having achieved the goal of recovering the investment grade in the year that is leaving and the indicators of the economy recording positive results in growth, investments and unemployment, the government steps on the gas entering 2024 in order to implement its reform project for which it committed itself before the elections and already started to implement by assuming her second term.
With everyday life remaining a constant priority for Megaros Maximos, his annual reform plan includes one rich reform and investment agenda, among others, in Education, health, state-citizen “transaction” and Justice. Areas that concern and directly affect everyday life.
The stamp of the government’s intentions was given by Kyriakos Mitsotakis during last meeting of the Council of Ministers for 2023, stressing that a cycle of crises is definitively closed and the path to stable and sustainable development opens. Starting with the big “historical” as it was described by government officials, higher education reform.
The government paves the way for the operation non-profit – non-state Universitiesfrom which the Maximos Palace expects and invests a lot in order to turn the page in higher education, harmonizing with European and global university education and to open a series of perspectives, for the whole of higher education, the economy, the students and the scientists who they will believe and work for her.
In health, at the same time, after the salary increases and the increases in doctors’ and nurses’ on-call hours, within ’24 the individual changes in public hospitals with the aim of administrative and operational changes to improve their image and patient service, while, among other things, the National Trauma System is expected to be established, i.e. special centers with special equipment and specially trained staff.
Within 2024, the emblematic reform is also expected – as described by the Minister of Justice, George Floridis, in Judicial Map of the country with amendments to both the Penal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure. A reform that aims to deal with chronic pathologies, to instill in citizens the belief that they will find their right without getting involved in lengthy criminal proceedings and also to ensure that the punishment will be commensurate with the illegality. The purpose of the government and the Minister of Justice is to completely reform the criminal system that has existed for decades in the country, both in terms of penalties and in terms of the speed of justice and the reliability of criminal proceedings.
In the government’s reform agenda for 2024, the zoning reform. A road map that comes to cover gaps of decades with the utilization of the technological tools that are available, while at the same time the expansion of the Special Town Planning Plans throughout the territory will also “run”, regulating issues related to off-plan construction.
Its continuation is a given for next year as well digital transformation of the stateresponding to the needs of the times as well as the citizens who daily reward the digital era of the state that was inaugurated by the covid period and is now expanding and will expand to more and more fields of public administration and the state.
