Letter to the Albanian Prime Minister, from prisons
A letter to Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama was sent from prison by the elected mayor of Heimarra, Fredis Beleris, a day after the resignation of the defeated mayor Gergi Goro – who had lost to Beleri in the elections but took up the duties of mayor in the wake of his imprisonment. and the news that Rama is looking to install another “choice” as interim mayor.
Among other things, Fredi Beleris, addressing Edi Rama, notes that “whoever takes over as interim Mayor until I am released and sworn in must be one of the councilors from the municipal faction that won the May 2023 municipal elections. He cannot be unrelated to the vote of the people of Heimarra during the recent municipal elections and much more he cannot be from another area outside the municipality of Heimarra.”

“Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama with his post on the X network (formerly Twitter) on December 22, 2023 took two very important steps towards reality. Seven months after the municipal elections he found out that the citizens of Heimarra (1) elected me as mayor and (2) sent home the previous mayor who was his chosen one.
Immediately after the announcement, Rama, the man who, in a world-wide democratic tradition, remained mayor for so many months despite having lost the municipal elections, hastened to announce his “resignation”. He didn’t actually “resign” but gave up his long-lost mayoralty. After all, she was a puppet.
I welcome Edi Rama’s important steps towards reality. But it is half a step in relation to what he has to do immediately. I am informed that he is looking to install someone else as interim mayor. He even mentioned in his post that he will follow the “best European practices”. I help him in his search by pointing out the following:
– Whoever takes over as interim Mayor until my release and inauguration must be one of the councilors who come from the municipal faction with which we won the municipal elections of May 2023. He cannot be unrelated to the vote of the people of Himarra during the recent municipal elections and much more cannot be from another area outside the municipality of Heimarra. This is what the “European best practices” say.
Any attempt by Rama to “plant” a chosen one away from the choices of the people of Himarra is contrary to democratic principles and fundamentally wrong.
Fredis-Dionysios Beleris
PS Seven days after the rejection of my application for special leave, Edi Rama as the spokesperson of the Court released the judgment. I, through my advocates, nine days later have not taken the decision into my hands. How did Rama find the decision when he is not a party to the lawsuit? Did the “impartial” Judge go to Rama and give him the decision?
