Today, the German newspaper Bild Zeitung publishes an op-ed about Greece and its dynamic recovery after the crisis of the previous decade.

With titles such as, “The Greek, blue-and-white miracle”, the newspaper hosts an interview with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who emphasizes that “Greece today is a dynamic, outward-looking destination for investors, with a strong voice at the heart of the E.U. and an economy experiencing an unprecedented renaissance.”

Recalling that Greece in 2010 was the troubled country of Europe while it was in danger of being outside the euro, the newspaper notes that “the Greeks in particular have a blue and white Christmas miracle in store for Europe”.

THE Prime Minister indicatively states that “the country’s fiscal deficit is expected this year and next year to be one of the lowest among industrialized countries, unemployment continues to decline, and foreign direct investment is contributing to strong and stable growth.”

Mitsotakis’s conclusion: “We turned the situation around. Greece is no longer the problem, but part of the solution. We are the positive story in the Eurozone.”

Howeverthere are also problems, the newspaper notes.“Shadows that remain are the high prices of basic goods and tax evasion,” the publication added.

“Greeks pay the highest prices for everyday goods and services, while at the same time they have the lowest purchasing power.

And to this day, one of the most serious problems remains unsolved: tax evasion, which remains a “national sport” and accounts for half of government spending, according to Bild Zeitung.
